Mark Borthwick

Mark Borthwick is a photographer known for his romantic, dreamlike aesthetic achieved through the experimental overexposure of film. He has shot for the likes of Purple, Pop, AnOther, and Vogue magazines, as well as the cover of Passion Pit’s album “Gossamer” and the Cat Power film “Speaking for Trees” (with Chan Marshall). He also writes and performs his own music under the moniker Will Shine. In 2009, his mid-career monograph “Not in Fashion” was published by Rizzoli. Borthwick currently lives and works in New York.
