Steve Dibenedetto

Steve DiBenedetto (b.1958, Bronx, NY) is best known for his thickly layered paintings and prismatic pencil drawings populated by a mixture of organic and mechanic forms, including octopi, helicopters, Ferris wheels, and architecture. DiBenedetto has held several solo exhibitions in the United States and abroad, including “Steve DiBenedetto: Who Wants to Know?” at David Nolan (New York), “Steve DiBenedetto: Edge Dwelling” at the University Art Museum (Albany, NY), “Remote Viewing” at the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), and “Curious Crystals of Unusual Purity” at MoMA PS1 (Long Island City, NY). His work has been shown at prominent venues such as Centre George Pompidou (Paris), The Morgan Library and Museum (New York), and half gallery (New York). Previously, he has taught at Columbia University, Cooper Union, Rutgers, and Cornell University. The artist lives and works in New York City.
